Join us for a day trip to the One World Observatory and the National September 11 Memorial Museum. Located at One World Trade Center, the One World Observatory was recently voted “Best New Attraction in the World” by the Telegraph – Travel (UK.) Visiting the Observatory involves taking a 47 second elevator ride to the 102nd floor where you will watch a virtual time-lapse that recreates the development of NYC’s skyline from 1500 to present day. The experience also includes a must-see stop to the observatory floor to take in a 360-degree panoramic view of the city’s iconic sights. After lunch on your own at nearby Hudson Eats, a food court with a variety of counter-service eateries and river views, we will visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The Museum is located within the archeological heart of the World Trade Center site and tells the story of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archives, narratives and a collection of monumental artifacts. The Museum also provides the intimate stories of loss, compassion, reckoning, and recovery that are central to telling the story of the attacks and the aftermath. Fee includes admission, gratuities, and transportation. Bus departs the Mattatuck Museum at 7:30 a.m. and Pomperaug Woods in Southbury at 8:00 a.m.
